Steampunk and role-playing game is not a common combination that we're used to this generation, and SouthPeak's Edge of Twilight was aiming to change that in late 2009. And then in 2010. And now it looks like we won't be getting it at all.
Edge of Twilight is a third-person, post-apocalyptic fantasy RPG where the main character, Lex, has the ability to cross between two parallel realms. Hence the title. Looked a little bit like a more mature rendition of Fable. According to sources, the Fuzzyeyes Studios project was canceled "months ago," along with the developer itself. While no official confirmation or denial has been made yet, such a move would not surprise, considering the troubled development the game has had since its initial announcement.
[Update]: Developer Fuzzyeyes has issued a statement, denying that the studio was shuttered, but confirming a temporary shelving of the title's work. "Currently all outsourcing parties still working hard on EOT development," said the studio, who substantiated the claims of Edge of Twilight's development issues, saying it was put on hold in October, but will resume in January. No new release date has been set.
Fuzzyeyes though, they issued their own comments. "[Fuzzyeyes] let go of the majority of staff [on September 30, 2009]" due to being "confronted with a number of challenges, including economic downturn and some legal complications."
