Although the first game was co-published by Eidos and Warner Bros., the newly announced Batman: Arkham Asylum sequel will be coming to consoles next year care of a single company -- it's license holders. We assumed that since Eidos is now Square-Enix Europe, the Dark Knight's move to the Unreal Engine 3-powered streets of Gotham had an even bigger pusher in the house of Final Fantasy, but today it's been confirmed that Warner will solely publish the title worldwide. Probably under their new DC Entertainment wing.
“We are thrilled to build a global game franchise from Batman: Arkham Asylum, which is receiving an incredible response from gamers and fans of Batman around the world,” said Martin Tremblay, President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “Rocksteady has taken Batman to a new level in the video game space and we are committed to delivering a sequel the fans will love.”
No release is set for the game yet, nor is there an official title.
