DLC for DLC? Seems to be the case. New multiplayer content is but one of the new additions making Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony/Episodes from Liberty City a worthwhile purchase: there's new music, too. And as well as know, Rockstar are masters of finding and implementing the most awesomely appropriate sounds in their titles. And masters of strring up controversy.
New radio stations and artists are being added to Liberty City next week with the release of the final GTA IV add-on, and Rockstar detailed what you'll be commiting grand theft jamming out to today. Bad news alert: one of these is not like the other, and you may not be so happy about how you'll get it.
"Electrochoc" sees the addition of Crookers, an Italian duo, "K109 The Studio" will see new club classics from Chic and Créme D'Cocoa, and DJ Paul will be tearing up the dance floor, mixing hot beats at Gay Tony's club Bahama Mamas. As for new stations, gear up for classic 80's tunes with the return of Vice City FM - which is only available for your ears if you buy the $40 Episodes from Liberty DLC compilation disc. Yep, a returning favorite makes it modern day debut, and only if you shell out for the disc which has The Lost and Damned that many of you already bought over Xbox LIVE. Ugh. We'll double check with Rockstar to see about that.
The Ballad of Gay Tony and Episodes from Liberty City release next Thursday for 1,600 MS Points, $39.99 respectively.
[Update]: Rockstar confirmed to us that due to certain copyright/licensing issues, the Vice City FM station and its content will indeed only appear in the version of Gay Tony present on the Episodes from Liberty City disc, and not in the Xbox LIVE Marketplace edition. That's that. A shame, though.
