Looking forward to early/mid-2010 Capcom releases like Dead Rising 2, Lost Planet 2, and Super Street Fighter IV? Oh good. Then you'll be overcome with joy when you find out ... that you'll be waiting a bit longer. Apparently.

Kotaku report that a recent forecast revisions document from the publisher reveals all of the aforementioned titles are being delayed. For how long, you ask? None of the games will see release until their fiscal 2011 (April '10 - March '11) -- or starting April 1st -- and they're being stretched out through the year. Guess Capcom didn't want to blow their entire line-up right away. Lost Planet 2 was originally been slotted in for Q1 (which will be dominated by Dark Void now), with Dead Rising 2 in summer, and Super Street Fighter IV in March.

The delays are said to be occurring so that Capcom can "avoid competing with the major titles that other companies plan to introduce in Q4," "preserve the value of Capcom's titles and maximize sales volume," and "expand the lineup of titles in the next fiscal year and afterward." Let's predict: SSFIV in April, Lost Planet 2 in August, and Dead Rising 2 in... late October? Who knows.

Well, bummer. Methinks the great 2009 release date exodus hath ruined the next 12 months. We're going to be seeing a lot of this "avoid competion" stuff again from publishers as the year goes on.
