Electronic Arts will be bringing ten shiny new Ferrari models to Need for Speed: SHIFT next week, exclusively for Xbox 360 owners. In addition, the download pack will include 46 brand new Career challenges (hot laps, eliminations, endurance, world tour) -- all specific to the high-end ride. 125 Gamerscore points will be yours upon completion of new Achievements to boot.

Anticipate the driving of the 1996 Ferrari F50 GT, 2005 Ferrari F430 Spider, 2005 Ferrari FXX, 2005 Ferrari Superamerica, 2006 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, 2006 Ferrari F430 Challenge (Online/Quick event only), 2006 Ferrari F430 GTC (Online/Quick event only), 2007 Ferrari 430 Scuderia, 2008 Ferrari California, and the 2008 Ferrari 16M Scuderia Spider. Look for it on February 16th for 800 Microsoft Points.

On a related note, EA also discussed their DLC outlook going forward, in an Q&A session following their fiscal results earlier today. As the company's COO John Schappert confirmed previously, nearly every EA titles in fiscal 2011 will incorporate an online element of some kind, and they're also pushing downloadable content heavily as well -- something that will no doubt affect Criterion's forthcoming Need for Speed, due out thsi fall.

"In every case, what we've seen is a very positive response from the consumer and in each case, particularly with Dragon Age, a strong pickup in revenue per user. By and large, they like the extra content and we think it's a strong positive move...we've got similar strong PDLC programs with all of our titles this year."

"Consumers are buying top titles and playing them longer," added Schappert, talking about the distribution of free content to "new" buyers, similar to that in Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age. "[DLC is] a great incentive when they first buy the title, but it also teaches them and shows them that there's additional content online and gets them used to that whole ecosystem in the marketplace."

2010 and beyond will be untapped DLC gold mines, it seems.

nfs shift ferrari dlc
written by sachin ramlall, February 16, 2010
this is so unfair...
why should this ferrari expansion dlc be exclusive to xbox users???
nfs shift is not exclusive to xbox so why should the dlc be???
ps3 users have all paid good money for their copy of shift so why shouldn't they be able to enjoy the dlc???
xbox users didn't want to fork-out a little more and buy a ps3 instead, so how many will actually pay for the dlc???
ps3 users are loyal and won't trade in their ps3 just cause of one game pack being exclusive to xbox...all this will achieve is discourage ps3 users from purchasing all further nfs titles in the future"" this can't be good news for EA.
