Left 4 Dead 2 receives its first batch of downloadable content next spring, and it's likely to make fans of the original zombie shooter happy. "The Passing" is an all-new campaign scenario, one that takes place just after the "Dead Center" chapter and is set in "a small town in rural Georgia." Oh, and Zoey, Bill, Francis and Luis are making a brief, but welcome comeback, and they're teaming up with the sequel's newcomers. You'll be able to play the chapter in all game modes.
Additionally, Valve confirmed that one new "uncommon common" infected variant will appear, along with some new weapons, and "a new co-operative challenge mode of play" -- one that will work with The Passing. No word yet on if there will be support for 8-player co-op.
No pricing has been announced at this time.
