When the family (or The Fam, as the kids say) start pouring in on early Saturday for a day of festivities to celebrate The United States' Independence, it won't just be about grilling, sports, fireworks and drinking this year. Thanks to Epic and Treyarch, it will also be about gaining double experience in both Gears of War 2 and Call of Duty: World at War. A double XP weekend is being put in place starting this Friday, July 3rd and ends on Monday, July 6th.
During that time in Gears 2, "you'll be receiving double XP as well as a 500 XP bonus awarded to the winning team" in matches. What's more, Epic will be "bringing the Ticker squad (a group of Tickers that all spawn at the same time) into full effect" during Horde - especially every 10 waves. Even better is the fact that the massive Title Update 4 hits this weekend, too. Awesome.
For World at War fanatics, a straight-up double EXP weekend is here, along with a playlist update on friday the 3rd that will make the Map Pack 2 playable in "Core" and "Hardcore" rotations.
