Yes, that is the official (as of today, anyway) box art for Final Fantasy XIII on Xbox 360. And for Europe. Simple, elegant, and pretty much what I expected Square to give us. That's main character Lightning front and center, looking all sorts of badass. It's worth noting that often times cover art can vary between regions, and it wasn't made clear if this would be what sits on shelves in North America next year. Still, looks classy.
Not too pleasing to your visual palette? If Mass Effect 2 taught us anything, it's that "official" doesn't always mean "official", though; things can change. However, Final Fantasy XIII is hitting Xbox 360 and North America on March 9th, so it's highly likely this is it.
[Update]: Square confirmed that, assuming they keep this art, both European and North American versions of the game will come housed in the same packaging. There you go. Furthermore, FFXIII director Motomu Toriyama has now said that the game will be epic. How epic? Around 50-60 hours epic.
"For XIII, the size of the entire game is considerable. Just running through the main story takes experienced players over 50 hours. For the first time, I think it’s possible to play through in full in about 60 hours or so.”
